Abcessed tooth from a open and treat partial root canal?

I had a open and treat done on a root canal about 1 year ago and a week later started getting a bump (possible abcess) and have been on 5 rounds of antibiotics and they haven't worked. Dentist sent me to oral sergeon and he said to have Dentist that did it fix it. I went back and they will not see me anymore. I have to see another doctor now.The bump was reddish and is now yellowish in color, texture has changed, and is draining a little. Is this dangerous? I have a slight heart murmur. Should I go to the ER? I have an appointment on Nov 13 is that not early enough? Please respond I am worried.....

So did you have a root canal done a year ago? or just an open and drain? And if it was only an open and drain, why didn't you go back to have the root canal? You definitely want to be seen sooner than Nov. 13th-why is the appt so far away? The ER is not going to do anything for you. You should see if you can get in to see the dentist sooner like today, whether it's the one you have an appt with or someone else entirely. Abscesses left untreated can become way bigger problems in a short period of time.
