Support Knitted
What is the point of joining any specific church if....?
The person in question has a close-knit support network of family and friends who share in his/her beliefs about Jesus,
AND
the person in question visits a different Christ-based church every Sunday (or Saturday--depending on the exact belief regarding the Sabbath)?
Is it really necessary in this instance that this Christian belong to any particular set of religious doctrine?
Is the religious doctrine of say Jehovah's Witness, Roman Catholic, Pentecostal, Latter Day Saints, Seventh Day Adventist, Episcopalian, (is this list long enough already?), etc. REALLY necessary for anyone's salvation?
The answer to your question depends upon whether or not you believe that the Bible teaches us that "proper priesthood authority" is necessary to conduct the priesthood ordinances here on earth that are required for salvation.
Christ taught us by his example that baptism is required and told Nicodemus that no one can enter heaven expect he be baptized. (See John 3:3-5). Christ also taught us that a proper priesthood holder needs to be called of God, as was Aaron. (See Hebrews 5:4).
So, if a particular church does not do baptism and does not do it by one holding proper priesthood authority, then according to these Bible verse it would all be for naught.
The key comes then, in finding a church that follows the Bible and preaches baptism by those holding authority from God.
