Pride Jazzy

Someone very close to me was in the midst of hard times. Because of her declining health she seemed to be distracted, and depressed lately. Actually if I were to loose the ability to do basic things in life, stuff like getting to the post office, or even going to get the mail, I think I'd be a little down too. If you find yourself in a situation like my friend for whatever reason, whether it's because of your health or your age or your weight, then you need to do what she did. She's happier now than I have seen her in years. She had resisted the thought of getting a wheelchair for a long time. It was like admitting defeat. It would be like admitting that her disease had won if she were to get a wheelchair. It took a little persuasion, but she eventually warmed up to the idea of owning one. Her whole demeanor started to change. We found out that there were a lot of jazzy wheelchairs to choose from. We also found everything from lightweight wheelchairs, to motorized wheelchairs. We were not disappointed at all. These wheelchairs had a lot of features, and were attractive too. I could sense her excitement as she found out all of the optional equipment you could get. After we researched the various models available and finally settled on a Jazzy electric wheel chair, she was really happy with her choice. She picked her favorite color for the body of the chair and added the accessories she wanted most, like a cupholder and a basket on the front to carry her things. The seat and handles were ergonomically designed for ultimate comfort. After her chair arrived, she had to make some adjustments. Getting to where she could operate it successfully was a little tricky, but she did okay. Now it is natural to her. She has completely mastered the operation of her jazzy electric wheelchair. Because she was able to do stuff on her own now, without having to ask other people for help, she has regained a sense of pride and dignity.

McGnarley`s Rant - Fisherman`s Pride
$18.79
Recording information: Astro Jackson Studios; Flowmotions Studios; Selkirk College Studios.Arranger: McGnarley`s Rant.A surprising debut release by this British Columbian sextet, McNarley`s Rant is Canada`s and North America`s answer to Germany`s Shanes. Not their mirror image, but this band does a superb job of blending acoustic (and sometimes electric) punk, European gypsy, and various other world music forms into a unique hybrid in a manner strikingly similar to their Deutschland counterpart, who have been blessing fortunate ears with the same. With a lineup featuring the obligatory drums, bass, and guitar, McGnarley`s Rant`s music is accentuated greatly by fiddle, bouzouki, mando, and Ramsey Reid`s gruff lead vocals. Their aggressive folk, acoustic punk, and even jazzy rhythms also recall Hallowed Ground-era Violent Femmes; however, they have a more consistent overall sound than that band. While it might be tempting to single out Sara Hart (fiddle) or Rob Larsen (mando and bouzouki) as driving forces, that might risk diminishing the role of the others who are equally pivotal to this recording. The success of Fisherman`s Pride rests in the fact that this is a total group effort. The end product is greater than the sum of its parts. ~ Dave Sleger Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005.
