Why is my blood sugar level 220 one minute...?

When I check my blood sugar level, one minute it will be 220 and I'll test it 2 minutes later, and it will be 180. Does anyone know why? It does it with a OneTouch Ultra Mini, and an Accu-Chek Aviva. I'm just wondering if it is the testers or if everyones blood sugar level does that?
I have checked the batteries, both meters are brand new, and I have followed the directions exactly.

It's because meters are not an exact science and can be off by plus or minus 20% (as per the FDA) in either direction, so the 40 point difference is within the acceptable range of accuracy.
