Batteries Fit Why don't AA batteries fit into my Argus model 810 Super 8 camera?
Have batteries gotten smaller since the 60's, it should take 4 AA 1.5 volt batteries and they just don't quite fit. It is just the length that seems off, can't quite get the door shut. All resources say 4 1.5 V batteries and I assure you AAA don't have the girth to fill the space provided for the batteries. Springs are plenty loose and depress to the bottom. I have tried Duracell and my rechargables so far with no luck. I heard from another source that Energizers have a slight indention on the bottom and will give those a go. All connections are clean.
Boy, that's an oldie. I used to sell those (made by Cosina in Japan). They should fit. IT could be the springs are just tight. Or are you talking gridth. If so experiment. I recall Copper Tops fitting just fine. You may have some problems with Zinc or Recharagbles.
What's going to be harder is finding S8 film and a lab to process it! Probably only Eastman in Hollywood or Rochester can process Kodachrome!
